I don’t know about you but I believe that some of us need to take a look in the mirror more often. No, not on our glamorous days when we are all dolled-up. No, not on the days when a guy makes us feel like one in a million with a blush-worthy compliment. And no, not on the days when we feel extra cute because we’re sporting a new fit (that’s short for “outfit” folks). Nope, I mean take a look in the mirror every day.
If only we could see what God sees when He looks at us, perhaps we’d look at ourselves in the mirror every day. We’d admire the smile lines that grace the circumference of our mouth and eyes. We’d marvel at our imperfect curves, and we’d fall in love with ourselves because we’d recognize that all of those things on the outside are no matches for what God has planted on the inside.
Girl, you are fine and Jesus thinks you’re to die for.
If we took time to take a closer look in the mirror each day, we wouldn’t wrestle with doubt because we’d see that our greatness is stoppable. We’d see the bright future that God planned before our birth. We’d see the fearfulness of our master’s wonderful work, and we’d admire it with the same love and adoration of our Father.
Perhaps if we took a closer look in the mirror more often, we wouldn’t allow rejection to make us question our worth, and we’d never wonder if we are enough. Instead, we’d see that we are always beautiful, wanted and lovely because we’ve been made in God’s own image (Genesis 1:25-27).
I’m sure we’ve all heard the familiar saying “if you don’t love yourself no one else will” but the truth is that loving yourself begins with loving God. When you love Him, you learn to love everything about Him. More importantly, you learn to love what is from Him. You my sister, are a gift from God. You are His treasured masterpiece who was made without flaw because you were formed in flawless His image. #Flawless
It’s easy to get caught up in numbers on the scale, sizes on clothes and even, the opinions of a desired love but God wants to get caught in your heart. He wants to be so close to you that you begin to look, think and act like Him. He wants to be so close to you that you begin to see what He sees. When God looks at you He doesn’t see your imperfections, He simply sees the beautiful jewel who’s destined to shine. You are beautiful, brilliant, confident and, you were bought at a price far above rubies. You are a masterpiece darling.
Learn to love your masterpiece every hour of every single day.
Scripture: “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” (Ephesians 2:10)
