Protect Your Seed
A big part of seeing your seed grow is knowing when to release it. Sometimes God will instruct you to nurture and protect with constant prayer. Other times He will instruct you to pull it out of prayer and share it with the world once it has matured.
In both situations, the key is to wait for God’s instruction before acting and moving your seed. Pray before sharing ideas, thoughts, and plan with others. Even if the person you open-up to is a close-friend, parent or even a pastor you want to be sure that it’s the right time to share and open-up. Most of all, you want to be sure it’s the right time to share the gift that God has given to you.
Sometimes I get so excited about an idea that I just want to run and tell a close friend but in those moments of excitement, I find myself asking “did God give you permission to share this?” At times the answer is yes but many times the answer is no, and I have to force myself to be obedient. The last thing I want to do is spoil my favor with my big, disobedient mouth!
God’s Word says everything operates by seed, time and harvest (Genesis 8:22). Therefore, every dream, thought, plan and idea has an appointed season for planting, uprooting and harvest. You never want to uproot in the season of harvest, and you most certainly don’t want to try to harvest in the season of planting.
As stated in the photo above “don’t ever let anyone talk you out of what God is trying to talk into you.” In this case, don’t be the “anyone”! Whether you’re in a new relationship, on a new job, in the middle of writing a business plan or just plain ole excited about a new idea, do your best to remember to PRAY and SEEK God’s guidance. When you do that, you will see your seed take you further than any juicy 2-minute conversation about your idea (plan, relationship, etc) could ever take you!
Scripture: Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God. (Philippians 4:6)
Prayer: God, help me to keep you in remembrance in my moments of worry, anxiety and excitement. Guide my steps. Make my heart open to receive and follow your instruction. Show me how to protect my seed. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
