Is It Really The Best You’ve Ever Had?

It’s only the best you’ve ever had until God shows you something better.  There have been so many times when I thought I had experienced the BEST DAY ever; received the BEST GIFT ever; made the BEST FRIEND ever; and even met the BEST boyfriend ever.  However, each time I thought I had seen my BEST God showed me something better.

He provided me with a greater blessing than the previous one.  He blessed me with me more abundant joy, a better birthday than the previous year and he added another great friend to my life.

Sometimes a relationship we thought would last forever ends.  Sometimes we lose our dream job and the opportunity that seemed to be the experience of a lifetime ends.  And sometimes we settle in a place that’s meant to be temporary.

You may think you’ve lived your best day but God’s word says “behold, I am doing a new thing” and “my mercies are new every day.” (Isaiah 43:19)(Lamentations 3:22-23).  Each day, God’s hands are in motion arranging and creating something new and something better.   Each day you lift your head is a day to expect to see your marriage and your spouse improve; see your finances double, see your profits triple, see your clientele quadruple, teach your best class, live a better year, see your health improve, see your vision sharpen,  and to see favor increase.

When God shows up and does a new thing in our lives, it encourages us to enlarge our faith.  Just because He hasn’t shown it to you yet doesn’t mean it’s not on the way.  Dare to believe that you have not seen God’s best yet.  Get up every morning with the expectation to see something new, greater and better.

When you do that, you’ll be amazed at what God begins to do your life.

Don’t get comfortable.  Believe that BETTER is on its way!

Happy Thursday!

Amen and Amen. We need to remember that because he is the author and architect his plans and layout are way more than our own visual designs for ourself! Isaiah 55: 8 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord.9 “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” Thanks Erika for this encouraging post!

I think part of the reason we enter into this kind of thinking is because we are so focused on the moment. Everything in our life moves in cycles and as Ecclesiastes states, there is a time for everything. What looks best now may not look best later and so on. Things are always moving and growing and with Gods help we are moving and growing as well. I know that I have to focus on that growth rather than what I think is best at the time. God has shown me as you shared so graciously above, that he can too our BEST. Thank you for this word!

I really love the point you made about being focused on “the moment” because it’s so true. We get so focused on that brief period of time that we are unable to move forward with the plans of God. I’m constantly learning how to move past the moment as well in many different areas of life. Thanks for sharing your wisdom & thoughts. This was a really good for me. =)

Drop me a line!
