Just Keep On Walking On The Water…
A few years ago, I heard Pastor Joel Osteen say something during one of his sermons that I’ll never forget. He said, “when I walk into a room full of people who I don’t know, I just assume that everyone likes me.”
One of the number one reasons we’re afraid to try new things and/or pursue our dreams is because we fear what others may think about us. We wonder if they’ll be receptive to our ideas. We wonder if they’ll find us attractive. We wonder if they’ll find us to be friendly and interesting. However, sometimes we wonder so much that all of those thoughts stop us in our tracks and prevent us from moving forward.
As illustrated in the photo above, there’s always going to be someone who doesn’t like you or something about you. There are two ways to deal with it: 1–Assume that everyone likes you; or 2–Worry about pleasing people and miss out on what God has for you. I’d prefer to go with option number 1.
No matter what we do, we’ve got to remember that God is for us, so anyone who is against us has already lost that battle.
Is there someone or something that’s holding you back from taking a leap of faith today? Is there something that you’re afraid to do, due to fear of rejection? If so, I encourage you to submit your worries and concerns to God. Let Him do the worrying for you so that you can accomplish those goals and achieve the dreams that are in your heart.
Scripture: “What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us?” Romans 8:31
“I have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me [I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who [a]infuses inner strength into me; I am [b]self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency].” Philippians 4:13 (Amplified Version)
Be encouraged to trust in God for all things.
