Just Keep On Walking On The Water…

A few years ago, I heard Pastor Joel Osteen say something during one of his sermons that I’ll never forget.  He said, “when I walk into a room full of people who I don’t know, I just assume that everyone likes me.”

One of the number one reasons we’re afraid to try new things and/or pursue our dreams is because we fear what others may think about us.  We wonder if they’ll be receptive to our ideas.  We wonder if they’ll find us attractive.  We wonder if they’ll find us to be friendly and interesting.  However, sometimes we wonder so much that all of those thoughts stop us in our tracks and prevent us from moving forward.

As illustrated in the photo above, there’s always going to be someone who doesn’t like you or something about you.  There are two ways to deal with it: 1Assume that everyone likes you; or 2Worry about pleasing people and miss out on what God has for you.  I’d prefer to go with option number 1.

No matter what we do, we’ve got to remember that God is for us, so anyone who is against us has already lost that battle.

Is there someone or something that’s holding you back from taking a leap of faith today?  Is there something that you’re afraid to do, due to fear of rejection?  If so, I encourage you to submit your worries and concerns to God.  Let Him do the worrying for you so that you can accomplish those goals and achieve the dreams that are in your heart.

Scripture: What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us?” Romans 8:31

“I have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me [I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who [a]infuses inner strength into me; I am [b]self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency].” Philippians 4:13 (Amplified Version)

Be encouraged to trust in God for all things.

Love,

~ETE

Our actions and focus should be centered on God not man. He endorsed our lives even before we came in earth. Isaiah 40:21 ” Do you not know?Have you not heard?Has it not been told you from the beginning?Have you not understood since the earth was founded?
22 He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth, and its people are like grasshoppers. He stretches out the heavens like a canopy, and spreads them out like a tent to live in.
23 He brings princes to naught and reduces the rulers of this world to nothing.” This man’s approval is all we need. Our ways and lack of sleep should be because of the Man who has the power to give us life. All power belongs to him and him alone! Amen and Amen! You just helped me think of the who we serve and should please which is the one and only great I AM!!!

Amen!!! This verse is so on point! I’ve learned to just keep my eyes squarely fixed on God and no one else. The only person who can get me to where I need to be is God so He’s the only one that matters!

Thank you both Erika and Roselyn for your interpretation of gods word. We are to be focused on what God thinks not on what people think! He is the final authority and has already established that we are valued and love by Him.

Drop me a line!
