Shoes, Shopping & Love…

Shoes, Shopping & Love…

YOU ARE ENOUGH to be LOVED just the way you are.

I was reminded of this fact yesterday while shoe shopping.  I tried on a pair of pumps that were cute and proceeded to look for a mirror so I could see if they complimented my legs.  As I glanced down at the floor mirror I noticed that my legs looked extraordinarily good! I mean real good, lol! I workout 5-6 times a week so I expect my legs to be admirable but I couldn’t help but to notice how lean and elongated they appeared while wearing those heels.

I soon figured out that the shoe store had altered (used long mirrors and tilted them) the mirrors in order to enhance the appearance of its shoppers and thereby increase its sales.

When I woke up today, I reflected on my experience and I thought about God’s love.  You see, whereas man accepts us after we’ve made improvements and enhancements, God accepts us just the way we are.  Moreover,  God loves us just the way we are.  We don’t have to change our looks or even change our hearts in order to be loved by Him.  He loves us just the way we are and through His love we are transformed from the inside out.

As women, this is a very important lesson to remember and keep in mind.  It’s especially important when dating.  If you ever find yourself feeling the need to change your appearance in order to be loved or accepted by someone,  take a moment to check your heart and remember that you are worthy of love just the way you are.

If you’re enough to be loved by the most amazing man in the world (Jesus), surely you are more than enough for anyone else.

Allow yourself to be loved by God each day of your life.   Receive His love and shine in it every moment of your life.

I am so thankful that The Lord lavishes his love on us (1 John 3:1). He takes devotion to a new level by loving us exactly the way we are. He is faithful and His love sustains us when love from man fails us. Our God is so good! Thank you for sharing a beautiful word!!

If one can’t love you as you are and how God made you, then they need to work on perfecting their love for others. True love doesn’t seek for weakness but rather on perfecting strength and together working to build and make our imperfections better through action and true gestures of encouragement. 1 John 3:16 “This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters. 17 If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? 18 Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth”. When we love genuinely we love close to the heart through out actions such encouragement, compassion, kindness, gentleness, selflessness, empathy and not from a distance!!!

Amen! This is good wisdom right here! Let us be open to waiting for true love and willing to give the same to others 🙂
