Invest In What You Desire to Have…You Are Worth It!

Last night, I was browsing online when I noticed an ad for a few skirts at the top of the screen.  The skirts were various colors but a particular pencil skirt in a bright citron yellow color caught my eye because yellow is my favorite color.  When I scrolled down to view the price I noticed that it was on sale for $11, and I immediately thought “WOW! I can buy 2 or 3 of these at this price.”  I scrolled down the page a bit more and noticed a few customer reviews regarding the skirt so I decided to read them.  As I read them, I noticed that each customer stated that though the skirts were cute they were also very thin and could not be worn without a slip.  The reviewers also commented that the colors varied significantly in person than on the website.  After reading their reviews, I was convinced that though $11 was a great price it was not worth the headache.  I thought to myself “now I know why the skirts are only $11…you are getting exactly what you pay for…”

Some of the best things in life will never come free or cheap!

They will require you to make an investment, take a risk, walk in faith and devote everything within you.  At the outset the sacrifice will appear to be an inconvenience, and you may even question if it’s really worth it but do it anyway.

The trainer you need to help you lose weight may be expensive.  The gym with the best equipment may cost a bit more.  The relationship you desire may require some extra work.  The position you want may require more training and education.  There’s always going to be a cost associated with things of value.  When you learn the cost, don’t let it scare you away.  Instead remember, that God who liberally supplies all of your needs is equipping and preparing you for something greater.  He has a package on the way with your name on it, and by the time you unwrap it, it will be well worth the wait, the time, and the investment.

Don’t cheat yourself by going for what’s cheap or free.  Take the time to make an investment into your life and yourself…you are worth it!

Yes! lovely post. I know I need the reminder that what God has for me will cost, but it is okay because I am worth the time, effort, and expense it takes to receive it. One of my favorite mantras is “INVESTING IN YOURSELF IS THE BEST INVESTMENT YOU CAN EVER MAKE” You will never not get a RETURN.

Hey sis! I love your mantra! It’s so true! I try to keep this in mind now more than ever. Like you said, we are totally worth the time, effort, expense and the investment. We are priceless. We are one of a kind. Thanks so much for sharing your mantra! I’m gonna remember that one!

The best things indeed don’t come easy. Jesus to prove his love was nailed to the cross. The journey he took on earth was not easy though he had all the power to rebuke and denounce all unworthy acts of men, yet he walked the path on earth to let us know that we are worth every persecution and crucifixion he endured! This is to let us know that we are worth it, because he loves us so much. James 1: 2 “My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. 4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing”. We need to focus and in hindsight when and after we have endured we will receive our crown of glory!!! Thanks Erika for the encouragement!

Amen sis! Everything we desire is worth the sacrifice because we are worth the sacrifice. Thanks for the added encouragement sis. =)

Great Post! We have to work for the harvest! And while we don’t see how the work helps us in the short term the work always blesses us in the long term. Easy things come because they are miracles or they are distractions from the greater gifts in life that require more patience, effort, or both

Amen! That’s such great wisdom and insight! It’s so true about it being either a miracle or a distraction which is why our quiet time with God is so important. That time with him gives us the discernment we need to keep moving forward with Him and to persevere.
