Searching, Dating & Friends…

Finding friends is much like dating.  If you go out looking for “Mrs. Right” or “Mr. Right”, you probably won’t meet him or her, but if you wake up each day with the goal of being “right” Mr. & Mrs. Right will find you.

This sounds so simple but so many of us singles are still searching and making life complicated.

We’re searching for validation, acceptance, love, good-breaks, and a “come-up” through a relationship.  When we don’t find these things, we often feel discouraged and lonely nevertheless we continue to engage in the search.

The thing I like most about the quote listed above is that it encourages contentment and kindness.  It encourages us make the most of every season in our lives by being good to others.  It also encourages us be good to ourselves and love ourselves by being kind and loving others.

If you’re single and you’re hoping for love in the near future, try being “love.”  Treat others with love and gentleness in all that you do.  Search for what’s right in others and at the right time, Mr. & Mrs. Right will find you.

 Love,

Hi Erika, addressing your readers.. . I would add be “Right for you.” Not meaning to be selfish but to be who God is calling you taking into account how He has positioned you. If you could do anything you wanted in service , that would bring you the peace and fulfillment beyond all understanding, the burden of mate finding disappears. Our time is too short for people to hang out with a line in the water and just wait or to be swimming around in circles trying ti get caught.
I wouldn’t give up on a list of desirable attributes, start with 5 keys ones and go from there , then put it in the alter! Let God crunch on it!
Wow, didn’t think was going to write so much

Challen this is so good! I love this part “put it on the altar and let God crunch on it!” I also really like that you reiterated that we are not supposed to be living life waiting to get caught because I think it’s something that many single struggle with especially when their friends and loved ones are “getting caught.” I think one of the most wonderful feelings in the world is waking up being excited about being YOU! It’s such a blessing to wake up and just be excited about life because of who you are & what God is doing in your life. Such great words of wisdom and advice you’ve shared with us my friend! Thanks so much!

God has a will for us and sometimes we want things so bad that we don’t ask for the will of God to be done. We need to have an open heart ready to receive the will of God and accept his directions Proverbs 3: 5 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding”. many people think you go finding a spouse for him or herself to make one complete. It is not who you go searching for but who and the people God puts in your life, the role you have to play which is helping the person in your life to serve God for the purpose of his kingdom.
