Living Life Confidently
It takes more effort to live with low self-esteem than it does to live confidently. I always thought that living with confidence was hard and was something that took years to achieve. I would purchase books, perform Google searches and even enter into relationships in hopes of obtaining confidence. I would look at others who were secure and confident, and wish that I could live that way one day. One day came sooner than I thought. The moment that I decided to believe God’s Word was the day that my life changed.
I focused on very specific scriptures that talked about the power of Jesus (Romans 8:11). I reminded myself over and over that Jesus died so that I could be set free. I repeated that scripture anytime I felt like I was less than enough. I would tell myself things like “the moment He rose from the dead is the moment that I became free to live in victory and with confidence. I know that the same power that resurrected Jesus is alive and it is at work in me. That power surpasses any thought or feeling of low self-esteem.” I allowed my identity to rest in that power and I stopped trying to manufacture my own power to feel confident.
When I woke up this morning, I woke up not just feeling like I was complete; I woke up knowing that I was complete. Today, I know exactly who I am because I know who Jesus is. I live each day with confidence, knowing that I have been perfected from the inside out and made without flaw. My confidence couldn’t be purchased through a book or found on the Internet because it had already been given to me. It was given to me over 2000 years ago when a man named Jesus overcame the grave.
It feels amazing to wake up with confidence each day! It’s a confidence that no one can take away because it’s a confidence that comes from knowing God.
Last night, I was blessed to share this testimony of confidence during the Lakewood Young Adult Service. Being able to stand up and share my story of God’s work in me was one of the best feelings in the world. I woke up today feeling like a champ because of their support and encouragement, and because of God’s work in me.
If you need confidence, search for it in Jesus. He has an endless supply of it for you and His power will never fade away.
Live life CONFIDENTLY!
“The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you.”
