In order to live the life we’ve always dreamed of, we have to learn how to excel in the life we have today.

One of the best passages for practical living and success is Proverbs 3.  It is rich with instruction on how to live the life of your dreams and it provides guidance on how to get there.  Some of the principles found in Proverbs 3 include:

  • Be generous (Prov. 3:28)

  • Do not be prideful or envious of others (Prov. 3:7; Prov. 3:31)

  • Be honest and loyal (Prov. 3:28)

  • Be just in your works and in your dealings with people (Prov. 3:21 & Prov. 3:27)

  • Be open to learning, and seek to listen more than seeking to speak (Prov.3:21-22)

  • Be open to wisdom and instruction. “Don’t be a know-it-all.” (Prov. 3:13-14)

  • Honor your parents and those in positions of leadership (Prov. 3:11-12)

  • Tithe (Prov. 3:9-10)

  • Love others and be kind (Prov. 3:3)

  • Seek God in all that you do (Prov. 3:1-2; Prov. 3:5)

When we do these things, God’s word promises:

  • We will obtain peace (Prov. 3:2 & 3:24)

  • We will learn how to make and maintain great relationships (Prov. 3:3-4)

  • We will excel in life (Prov. 3:18)

  • We will obtain wisdom and understanding (Prov.3:13, 21-22)

  • We will lead a blameless life (Prov. 3:4)

  • We will obtain financial prosperity (Prov. 3:9-10)

  • We will obtain confidence, strength and protection (Prov. 3:25-26)

  • We will obtain honor (Prov. 3:35)

God’s word says that he is for us and never against us for a reason; He wants to see us prosper just as much as we do plus more! (Romans 8:31; Jeremiah 29:11).  Every tool that you need to excel in life can be found in God.  Don’t just chase success, pursue Godly success.  When you follow God’s ways, he’ll lead you in a direction that’s bigger, wider and greater than anything you could ever imagine.

Be encouraged to pursue God in all things today.

You always bring such great light and emphasis on declaring and pursuing our purpose. Part of our purpose is to live a life of value not just for our personal success but a life that is enriched with a purpose for serving God and others. God wants us to be blessed and attain success so it can also be extended onto others. Though man measures success based on personal achievements, our ultimate success comes through how we are able to help and serve others through the success we seek. Many of the stories In The bible, such as Joseph, Jacob, David and many others, their success was granted by God and not only did they use it to serve God but to help and serve others. James 1: 16 “Don’t be deceived, my dear brothers and sisters. 17 Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. 18 He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all he created”. Whatever our gifts are, may The Lord lead us so we can take the steps he has set before us, and by his guidance we can flourish by using the gifts and talents we all possess. Through serving others we gain success spiritually, physically and even through our service, he will and can use those avenues to bless and meet our financial needs!!!

I love your post so much! Like you said, life and purpose is about serving others. It’s the best success we can ever achieve. The ability to use our gifts and talents to bless others and serve others is one of the greatest testimonies we’ll ever have about God. May we continue to grow and flourish in all that God has given to us.
