Ask God For More

Ask God For More

When I woke up a few days ago the song “More More More” by Joann Rosario was on my mind. I hadn’t heard it in years but a text from a close friend that read “ask God for more” triggered the song. When I read her text, I have to admit that I didn’t think more was a possibility. I thought to myself “I already have a lot going on right now. I don’t think I can handle anymore of anything right now.”  Between writing opportunities, launching a law firm, volunteering and working out each day, the concept of more just seemed like too much to handle. It also felt a little greedy to request more.

Part of the lyrics to the song say “I need more more more, Jesus more of you…I need so much more, Jesus more of you. When I have been all used up fill me like an empty cup. And when it seems I have had enough, I still need more of you.”

As I sung the words, I realized that if there was ever a person to request more of, and more from, that person was God.  He is an endless supply of more.  He will always have more of everything that we need; and if we ask for more, he’ll never deny us.

Like me, sometimes we’re afraid or hesitant to ask God for more because we think of him as a person with limited resources but he is not. He is unlike anyone in this world and he is always full of more. He is full of more grace, love, peace, mercy, justice, finances, favor and restoration than we’ll ever know. All we have to do is ask for it.  We don’t have to worry about not being able to handle the increase because his plans are for good and not evil (Jeremiah 29:11).  God’s plans are to bless you abundantly and to fill you until the point of overflow so that you can be a blessing to someone else.

If you were at a restaurant and they offered unlimited refills on your favorite soda or juice, you wouldn’t hesitate to request more.  God is the same way.  He has made more available to us.  He has offered more to us. He has promised more to us.  Most of all, he has promised to be more to us than anyone else in this world.  He has an unlimited supply of more and all we have to do is ask for it.

Today, will you ask for more?  He promises to do exceedingly and abundantly beyond above all we could ever ask or think. (Ephesians 3:20).  Do you know how powerful that is?  Have you ever declared that scripture over your goals, dreams or prayers? If not, it’s not too late to begin doing that.

Ask God for more. You haven’t seen your best or most blessed day yet. There is still more in store for you.  Ask for it today and expect to see it each day that you wake up.

Be encouraged to believe God for more.

Scripture: “May the God of your hope so fill you with all joy and peace in believing [through the experience of your faith] that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound and be overflowing (bubbling over) with hope” (Romans 15:13).

Prayer: God you know the desires of my heart and the goals that I have set.  Today, I am asking you for more. I am asking that you bless my goals and prayers in a way that is exceedingly and abundantly beyond all that I can ask or imagine. In the name of Jesus, Amen.

What an amazingly powerful message for this new month! Thank you for setting our spirits on Christ and His abundance! I believe that we can all receive our exceedingly and abundantly. I believe more is possible and if we only receive more of God and nothing tangible we will be tremendously blessed. I have found that receiving more of God will automatically bring physical manifestations of what we have received in the spirit. More anointing, favor, discernment, distribution of his spiritual gifts, development of the fruit of the spirit, joy, peace, prosperity, and expectation of his glory. We can have it all. Once we give to him God gives even more to us. He is a never ending, overflowing, powerful stream and we can always access more. I am so glad that you have shared this message with others and pray it touches those ready for MORE!! PRAISE GOD FOR HIS OUTPOURING IN ADVANCE.

You are so right Erika, God commands us to ask. It is up to him to determine the capacity to which we can do what he has assigned for us. Many times we limit ourselves, which limits God on what he wants to do in our life. We mentally and physically turn down God’s blessings even before he can give it to us. Gideon thought he was poor, had nothing and was the least in his family. God was able to use him who felt he had nothing and couldn’t save the Israelites from the Midianites. This all changed when he asked God in Judges 6: 36 “And Gideon said unto God, If thou wilt save Israel by mine hand, as thou hast said”. In Judges 7:7 “And the Lord said unto Gideon, By the three hundred men that lapped will I save you, and deliver the Midianites into thine hand: and let all the other people go every man unto his place”. We can do all things with his strength, we are commanded to ask and he will pick and choose how, when, and what we will receive and the capacity of the blessings he has in store. It’s not up to us to pick and choose what we can and can’t do in and for The Lord but his call, we just have to ask and God will take it from there!!!

Amen Rozzy! This is so true. Our request opens up the door for more. The act of asking is like opening up our hand and presenting it to God. When we do that, we don’t know what he’ll give back to us in return however he promises to fill us to the point of overflow so the best thing to do is just ask. Remove the limits and just ask. =)

Drop me a line!
