To-Do Lists

I don’t know about you but something about To-Do Lists makes me feel overwhelmed every once in a while.  During the past two weeks my To-Do Lists have been sooooo looooong! It seems like there’s always something to do.  I think about my To-Do Lists at the gym, at church, on the road, in the kitchen, at work, in the store and anywhere else my body is positioned.  I think about these lists so much that I’ve even begun to keep small index cards next to my bed just in case a task pops into my head in the middle of the night or before bed.

When I woke up today, I felt overwhelmed as soon as my feet hit the ground.  I thought about yesterday’s rollover tasks and had no idea how today would play out.  I tried to squeeze in a quick 60-minute workout to ease my mind but even that added stress because I kept thinking about all of the things that needed to get done today.

“My Blog! How am I going to encourage everyone today? What am I going to write?”  I had a few ideas but nothing felt right.  I couldn’t find the right words to write a message from my heart.  “That’s it…I’m just gonna pray and talk to Jesus for a moment.”  The moment I prayed, I felt calm and at peace.  A few minutes later, I searched a few photos in my phone and came across this one:

About To Shine

Sometimes the tasks on our To-Do Lists make us feel stressed and overwhelmed. Nothing makes sense to us and we wonder how anything will get done but in those moments, the reality is that God has already begun to do the work.  When you feel overwhelmed and under pressure understand that the power of God is at work in you and He’s preparing you to shine.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed today, remember that you have been given the mind of Christ.  You’ve been made in God’s perfect image and everything will be just fine.  Just like a diamond, God is preparing you to shine.

Go Shine!

Love,

~ETE

Prayer is such a wonderful bonding experience and moment with our father. When we need to recoup and not feel overwhelmed, God is always waiting and expects us to call on him for strength. Psalm 121:1″I look up to the mountains—
Where does my help come from there?
2 My help comes from the Lord,
    who made heaven and earth!
    3 He will not let you stumble;
the one who watches over you will not slumber.
4 Indeed, he who watches over Israel
    never slumbers or sleeps.
5 The Lord himself watches over you!
The Lord stands beside you as your protective shade.
6 The sun will not harm you by day,
    nor the moon at night.
7 The Lord keeps you from all harm
    and watches over your life.
8 The Lord keeps watch over you as you come and go,
both now and forever.”For the first time today I realized the bible uses exclamation signs, which is used in 2 and 5.This tells us we are in safe hands, for he who gives us strength gives it gracefully.
Thank you Erika for the reminder you’ve given to us, on asking and praying for strength!!!

You’re the second person to share this scripture today! Talk about confirmation. Thanks so much for sharing this Rozzy. I really appreciate it. I needed the reminder just as much. That prayer this afternoon was a real strength saver for me. It’s now evening and I feel so relieved and at peace. I accomplished the things that were on my to-do list. I still have 1 or 2 rollovers but that’s okay. The big ones are done because of God’s generous supply of strength. =)

Drop me a line!
