Your Gift Sure Does Look Good On You

When I think of the many gifts and talents that God has placed within us the lyrics from a beautiful song come to mind:

“The gift, it looks good on you. God has graced you and you wear it well!”

What you carry can only be carried by you.  The way you do things is unique to you. Your gift looks better on you than on anyone else. No one else can do what you do the way that you do it! Believe in the power of your gift(s).  Believe in the things that God has given to you.  Believe his word and his promises–they have been written to affirm and strengthen you. A gift is only given to a person to bless him/her.  For every gift you possess there is a plan to bless you. Honor your gifts and talents by honoring God with your faith. When you do that, he promises to honor you and do things you’ve never dreamed of (Ephesians 3:20).  Stick with your gifts and your gifts will stick with you. They will follow you, they will go before you and they will allow you to accomplish great things (Proverbs 18:16).

WINSday Affirmation: “If God gave it to me, it’s worth working for and keeping. If God placed it inside of me, it’s worth tapping into. If God spoke it to me, it’s worth listening to. If God wrote it, it’s worth believing.”

Scripture: A man’s gift makes room for him and brings him before great men (Proverbs 18:16).

Prayer: Dear God, help my friend that is reading this message grow to learn and understand the power of their gift(s). Help them to flourish in every area of their gift(s). In the name of Jesus, Amen.

God bless you and may God bless your gift(s).  Stick with your gifts! This is your year!

Love,

~ETE

I love this song and I am thankful for your gift. I am even more grateful that as we all grow in our gifts we leave seeds that encourage the body of Christ. Our gifts allow us to be used by Him and for His glory. His gifts are tools and treasures that will take us on the path He has for us to go. Amen!

Yes, me too! It’s such a beautiful song and powerful song! I’m still amazed by it. It’s one of those songs that makes you go “wow, this is so true. Why didn’t I ever realize this before.” I just love it so much! His gifts blessed us and our gifts bless others. We are truly blessed to be a blessing to God’s kingdom. Thank you for being so attentive to your gifts and allowing God to use you. You are a tremendous blessing to me and so many others. I love you! <3

You are so right we individually carry gifts given to us by the father . Your post today was so similar to my reading in 1 Corinthians 12:1- 31. Our gifts together form the body of Christ. Because God wants the body to be in unity he distributed gifts so together we can all attract each like magnets and experience in unity the wonders of God. We need not feel our gifts have no value for in Christ, there in nothing like I have no value, he created each and everyone of us for a purpose. I Corinthians 12:22 “In fact, some parts of the body that seem weakest and least important are actually the most necessary. 23 And the parts we regard as less honorable are those we clothe with the greatest care. So we carefully protect those parts that should not be seen, 24 while the more honorable parts do not require this special care. So God has put the body together such that extra honor and care are given to those parts that have less dignity. 25 This makes for harmony among the members, so that all the members care for each other. 26 If one part suffers, all the parts suffer with it, and if one part is honored, all the parts are glad.27 All of you together are Christ’s body, and each of you is a part of it. 28 Here are some of the parts God has appointed for the church”.It is always a blessing to read the scripture and also get encouraging confirmation from your post on the same topic. God is actively using you to touch many!!!

Wow! This scripture is so on point! You touched on everything it discusses! Thanks so much for sharing this! Which version is this…KJV? The most important thing for us to remember is that our gifts are for God and His kingdom–just as you said. When we utilize our gifts it’s not just us who receive the blessing, the entire body of Christ grows greater and stronger. Thank you so much for this exhortation sis! Love you! 🙂
