10 Promises From God

Ten Promises From God

Let’s face it, life can be rough sometimes and the people in it can often make life unpleasant.  In the midst of life’s challenges and the daily ups and downs that we face, we need an anchor that can keep us secure and encouraged.  Instead of being a ship that’s tossed at sea we can remain safe, secure and unmoved, if we stay connected to our anchor of hope named Jesus.  Today, while reading I came across ten encouraging scriptures to help each of us stay anchored in hope to our wonderful God.  As you read them, I pray that your strength is renewed and that your hope begins to rise.

  1. JOY“Those who look to him for help will be radiant with joy; no shadow of shame will darken their faces.” (Psalm 34:5)

  2. PROVISION“…[F]or those who fear him will have all they need.” (Psalm 34:9)

  3. PROVISION“Even strong young lions sometimes go hungry, but those who trust in the Lord will lack no good thing.” (Psalm 34:10)

  4. COMFORT & PEACE“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.” (Psalm 34:18)

  5. PROTECTION“For the Lord protects the bones of the righteous; not one of them is broken!” (Psalm 34:20)

  6. REDEMPTION/SAFETY —“…[T]he Lord will redeem those who serve him.  No one who takes refuge in him will be condemned.” (Psalm 34:22)

  7. FULFILLED DREAMS & GOALS“Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you your heart’s desires” (Psalm 37:4)

  8. BRIGHT FUTURE“Look at those who are honest and good, for a wonderful future awaits those who love peace.” (Psalm 37:37)

  9. PROTECTION“The Lord rescues the godly; he is their fortress in times of trouble.” (Psalm 37:37)

  10. PERSEVERANCE/STRENGTH“But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength.  They will soar high on wings like eagles.  They will run and not grow weary.  They will walk and not faint.” (Isaiah 40:31)

Prayer: God, I believe you have a plan for my life that supersedes the challenges and troubles of today.  It is a life full of victory, health, wealth and peace.  Today, I ask that you help me to find hope in you.  If my hope is in my job, my belongings or friendships, remove it from where it does not belong.  I desire an anchored life of hope that can only be found in you.  I submit my plans, desires, and dreams to you. I declare you as my anchor or hope.  I receive you as my anchor.  Help me to remain unmoved.   In the name of Jesus, Amen.

Reflection: Are you currently placing your hope for a job, a relationship or a thing in someone else today?  Identify the things that you are currently hoping for.  Rather than hoping for a person to bring those things to pass try to find a scripture (from above or elsewhere) and link your hope to God’s word.  Find a way to anchor each hope in Jesus today.

Be encouraged today.  God bless you. =)

Love,

~ETE

God’s timing is always the best. Today I got disappointing news back to back regarding a job I was hoping for and also a grade I was hoping for. This message helped me to immediately take consolation with the scripture telling us not to WORRY for God has many promises and he is our anchor.Though I didn’t get that desired job and grade today, I won’t worry and neither should anyone one else . I know it can be challenging when we don’t know or can’t comprehend what lies ahead. That’s when faith comes in, we need not worry about what did not happen.Luke 10:41 “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, 42 but few things are needed—or indeed only one.[f] Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.” Our God promises us that few things are needed in him all that we need will fall in place according to the plans he has for us!!!

Amen and praise God for your confident faith in Him. That’s a gift that no one can take away from you. The more we hang onto God in uncertain times, the more certain His plans become. We don’t know why today’s rejection occurred but God knows where it will lead us tomorrow. He knows how our strength today will equip us for tomorrow’s blessings. I thank God for your faith and for your willingness to share your experience with me and others. Someone, somewhere is reading this and being strengthened and encouraged to stay anchored in God. I thank God in advance for the open door that He has for you. In fact, I believe that the door has already been opened due to your peace with today’s closed door. Thanks for being a light of hope to me and others sis. I’ll be praying for you tonight. Love you! =)
