Do Whatever Is In Your Heart, God Is With You

One of my favorite scriptures says  “Do whatever you have in mind, for God is with you” (1 Chronicles 17:2).  These are the words that a man named Nathan spoke to David.  Nathan was telling David “hey David, go after the desires of your heart! God will be with you as you pursue those things.”  How wonderful is it to have a friend like Nathan to speak words of encouragement into your life?  Maybe you have big dreams today but you don’t have a Nathan in your family or amongst your peers to encourage you.  If you don’t have a person like that it’s okay because today we’re going to pray a few special prayers to uplift and encourage your heart.  Even if you don’t have a Nathan, you have a God who knows the plans that He has for your life so we’re going to focus on Him (Jeremiah 29:11).  As you focus on God, He will begin to add people to your life who can be your Nathan (Matthew 6:33).

The prayer that I want to share today is found in Psalm 20.  It’s 9 verses long but we’re going to focus on the first 5 verses.  If you are ready to see those hidden dreams in your heart come to pass and you are ready to leave fear of failure behind, let’s go!

I’m going to begin with a short prayer and I will end with the prayer found in Psalm 20:1-5.

Short Prayer:  Dear Father, thank you for every desire that you have placed inside of my heart.  Today, I feel fearful of failure and I am need of your love to encourage and strengthen me.  As I begin to pursue my dreams I ask that you open my ears and heart to receive from you.  Give me your wisdom and show me the path to follow your footsteps.  I know that you have placed great gifts inside of me and I am ready to use them for your glory instead of my own.  Surround me with friends and family who can invest in my dreams with encouragement, love and support.  Remove people and things from life that are distractions, and give me the strength to avoid and resist them.  Enlarge my heart so that I can learn to trust you and help me to abandon my fears.  I am ready to pursue what you have for me.  I am ready to do what is in my heart.  I am ready to fulfill my destiny.  I am ready to walk with you.  I declare that my future is in your hands. In the name of Jesus, Amen.

Prayer from Psalm 20:1-5

“In times of trouble, may the Lord answer your cry.  May the name of the God of Jacob keep you safe from all harm.  May he send you help from his sanctuary and strengthen you from Jerusalem.  May he remember all your gifts and look favorably on your burnt offerings (sacrifice).  May he grant your heart’s desires and make your plans succeed. May we shout for joy when we hear of your victory and raise a victory banner in the name of our God. May the Lord answer all your prayers.”

Continue to be encouraged my friend. God loves you and He has great plans to fulfill the desires of your heart. Happy Friday! =)

Love,

ETE =)

    You couldn’t have said it better, God grants us our desires and wishes based on his time. If we want to know God with an open heart he will surely direct us, and bring people along the way who will encourage us so we can grow. When God had a plan to deliver the Israelites from Egypt he knew Moses would be the one to carry out the task.Though Moses felt he could not speak because he had a speech impediment ; God already knew and pre-planned for Aaron to be by Moses’s side. It’s wonderful how God works, he always has a way to restore us from our weakness even when we feel there is no way. I appreciate the great message and insight you continue to shower on us thank you!!!

      Gosh, I love your wisdom Roz! You always share the best analogies. =) God will never forsake us. He will never forsake the desires that He has planted inside of our heart and He will never abandon His promise to give those things to us. All we have to do is stay focused on Him, and He will guide us to the places we desire to be. I hope you’re having a great weekend! =)

    Yes, reading your inspired words i believe will help me make a stronger connection between my secular studies in personal development and my previous years studying the Bible. I never considered myself strong in vocalizing prayer or “coming up with the words”, but. I see in your posts a greatness that you have tapped into which is in fact encouraging!

      Aww, praise God =) That really makes me happy to know that my friend. I used to struggle with “coming up with the words” to speak during prayer until I realized that God is just like our natural parents. They don’t care what we say when we spend time with them. The fact that we want to spend time with them is enough to make them smile and please their heart. God is the same way. Even if we all we do is say “God, thank you for today” it’s much more pleasing than saying nothing at all. Our prayers make God smile and longs to give us the desires of our heart (Psalm 37:4). Keep being great my friend! You too are an encouragement to keep moving forward. Have a great day!
