Yesterday, a friend posted this quote and it resonated in my heart very deeply. It touched me so greatly because 2013, has definitely been a year of growth and development in many areas of my life. More than anything, it has been a year of overcoming fear and stepping out on faith to do the things that God has placed in my heart.
This year has challenged me to look fear in the face and say “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. If God is for me, nothing can be against me.” This year has also challenged me to learn that nothing and no challenge will ever be bigger than my God.
What I find so amazing is that we are very much like that caterpillar. Experiences happen and it seems like the world is over. We struggle to accept that God’s way is better is than ours, and we struggle to navigate through the difficult seasons. Like the caterpillar, we grow so afraid of the changes of life that we forget who holds our future in their hands. I believe the caterpillar thought the world was over because it forgot whose world it lived in. The caterpillar got so caught up in the environment that was changing around it, that it forgot to focus on who was behind the change.
We have been assured that God goes before us and that He stands behind us (Is. 52:12). Therefore, when things begin to change we can be confident that the change will work in our favor (Rom. 8:28). We can have confidence that no matter how many times the seasons of life change, God’s love will remain the same. His hands of protection and gift of grace cannot be removed from their position. Our future will always remain in God’s steady hands (Ps. 31:14-15).
Friend, you may be in caterpillar-like circumstances today, and things may seem as though they are closing in around you but I want you to think about the story of the caterpillar. Our King always has one more move, and you are about to emerge from that cocoon. Your cocoon has been preparing you to break out. And now, you are going to mount up with wings like eagles and soar high above your cocoon (Is. 40:31). Happy WINSday Butterfly! =)
